Our Holistic Approach

Compassionate, Evidence-Based Support for Healing and Change

At Counselling Dapto, therapy is grounded in compassion, safety, and evidence-based practice. The focus is on providing a confidential and supportive space where individuals and couples can explore challenges, feel heard without judgement, and work toward meaningful and measured change at a pace that feels manageable.

Support is tailored to the needs of each person and may draw on person-centred counselling, trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, and other evidence-based approaches. This allows therapy to be responsive, practical, and deeply respectful of each client’s experiences, strengths, and goals.

Clients may seek counselling for trauma, anxiety, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or the lasting impact of difficult experiences. Sessions are designed to strengthen insight, emotional regulation, coping strategies, and connection, while supporting long-term wellbeing rather than short-term symptom management alone.

Based in Dapto, the practice offers a calm and professional space for people seeking thoughtful, ethical, and effective support close to home. Whether you are looking for individual counselling, couples therapy, or trauma-focused support, the aim is to provide care that is compassionate, clinically informed, and centred on what matters most to you.

He holds Bachelor and Master qualifications majoring in counselling and has completed postgraduate study in Traumatic Stress. Isaac’s career includes senior clinical and strategic roles within national counselling services, where he has supported clients, practitioners, and organisations to create safer and more responsive environments.

Isaac is a warm, collaborative, and person‑centred practitioner. He partners with clients in an effort to explore the experiences they want to process and the patterns they feel ready to shift. By grounding each session in deep listening, respect, honesty, curiosity, and courage, he creates a space through which clients can develop insight, build confidence, and move toward meaningful change. His approach is practical and responsive, helping clients understand how their internal systems shape emotion, behaviour, and relationships. As a result, clients often discover new ways to navigate challenges, strengthen connection, and reclaim direction in their lives.

Each session with Isaac is tailored to meet the client’s personal therapeutic needs. He draws on a range of contemporary counselling approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness‑Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Person‑Centred Therapy, Attachment‑Informed Therapy, Solution‑Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Functional Family Therapy. He believes counselling can be a rewarding and empowering experience, and he looks forward to supporting clients in creating greater understanding, calm, connection, and wellbeing.
